I didn't play SMB2j until I got a FDS in 2002. And I never bought Super Mario All-Stars, because I liked the NES better for those games(which I already owned, and knew nothing about Lost Levels) lol.
But SMB2j is also very easy if you actually grind it the way a player would grind the original back in the day. I can beat SMB2j fairly quick too. But it's nowhere near as fun. Just a retread on SMB with tiny differences. So the same SMB1 music gets old.
