This is well documented. Pippen was persistent, approached Jordan repeatedly until Jordan and Pippen developed a friendship. The other players didn't do that, nor was it a responsibility for them or Jordan to do so. Merely a choice of consenting adults to determine how they work on their game. Throughout all of sports, mentorship from star players is actually not as common as people think. And mentorship is different than being a captain or floor leader.

    maybe pippen made jordan

pippen was the leader in assists for all 6 titles

    he was the point guard

    he ran the offense

he made the other guys better. not jordan...

it showed when pippen went to portand. and his time in 1994 without mj

pippen has 10 times more success with mj than mj has without pip

No one said he "MADE" Pippen from scratch. MJ's influence, and imprinted DNA onto a young Pippen through countless daily brutal competitive practices enhanced Pip's already innate natual abilities, and capabilities. Enough with the straw man arguments. This isn't a Shaq / Kobe, LeBron / Wade, Kobe / Gasol situation of established individual players joining forces. Pippen's game mirrors Jordan, but with significantly less offensive skill.

The Blazers were already a very talented team.

The year before Pippen joined, they went to the Western Conference finals. They had a record of 35-15. They were title contenders.

The next year, Pippen and Steve Smith joined the team, and they once again went to the Western Conference finals.

For starters, MJ and Pippen were similar in many ways. U could argue that MJ is the first freak athlete 6'6 and up that could play AND defend PG, SG, and SF. It was almost as if MJ brought Dr. J level size, athletic ability, and scoring dominance to the SG position. Pippen was the next guy in line with all that going for himself EXCEPT for the scoring dominance part. MJ was a great scorer who also happened to be a great passer. Pippen was a great passer who also happened to be a very good scorer. Pippen could take the heat off of MJ in terms of passing and defense. MJ could take the heat of Pip in terms of being the alpha dog scorer. Both were epic all around players whose package of athletic ability and versatility on both sides of the rock perimeter wise are ONLY matched by a Bron or Kobe. Neither MADE the other, both ENHANCED each other!

he didnt ruin anything.. he just validated pippen in 94

he basically said if a team is good one year without someone. and good the next year with someone. then that player had little impact

him discounting pippen in portland basically totally ruins anything jordan did on the bulls. since the 94 team was great without jordan

thats the great thing about pippens 2 situations. you cant really discount both. you can only use an agenda to fight with one of them

for instance.. if he said pippens blazer situation was the valid one and said "the leadership and experience is the difference maker." then he'd have saved jordan. but gave pippen a leg up for his portland days

he in a way f*cked himself in the a** by picking the wrong situation to argue with
