96 Sonics Appreciation Thread

[COLOR="DarkGreen"]Tha 1995-96 Supersonics were one of tha best Seatle teams ever. Winning over 60 games, 1 seed, and Pacific division crown. This team had tough battles in tha playoffs going against Malone and Stockton jazz, and Hakeem and Drexler's rockets. They were led by all stars Payton and Kemp who had help from Hawkins, detlef, and perkins. They went all tha way to tha finals and took tha best team ever 72-10 Jordan Bulls to 6 games as Jordan won his 4th title, they showed more fight against that team than anybody and that's pretty damn impressive, that team was really something else[/COLOR]

Aside from the 1979 Sonics, 1996 Sonics were the next best Sonics of all-time.

Actually 1996 Sonics are the best of all-time. It just wasn't fair that the 1996 Sonics had to face the Chicago Bulls that had the best record in NBA history of 72-10. Shit is unfair.

Who can forget Steve Scheffler?

Dude be filling in the closing minutes of a game whose outcome was already determined.

But ya....the 96 sonics team was arguably the best team in franchise history. After choking in the first round in 1994 and 1995, it was nice to see them get past their bogeyman.

But then it was the beginning of the end. In that off season, they signed Jim McIlvaine to that $35 million contract, which p!ssed of Shawn kemp.

Kemp was traded in 1997...and even though Vin baker did well his first season he toiled in alcoholism. Lol then it was a blur...Payton was traded. Ray Allen made lots of 3s. Clay bubba Bennett bought the team from howie

Then Wednesday July 2, 2008 happened.
