The reason Lebron doesn't have a sense of urgency in these finals
It's because he knows he's already passed every active player, and he's still got the rest of his career to move up from 5-10 to 1-5.
Duncan is ahead of him for now but that can change, and he's already passed literally every other player who is active and could still compete with him in the all-time rankings. So there's no rush.
Heat have played in four straight finals now and that takes its toll. King James is doing the smart thing and not forcing the issue here, when he still has an entire career left to make moves up the list. There is no active player that can currently threaten him except for Duncan but he's about to retire so rather than expend all his energy on this finals, Bran is taking is as it comes and approaching it with the long-term, big picture in mind.

right so he worked hard and carried wade's ass all through out the regular season just to let the other team win in the finals

He's not LETTING them win, he's simply taking a measured approach. He's still trying to win but he understands there is nothing this finals can do for his legacy by itself and he still has a lot of basketball left to play. There's no use in putting excessive stress on his body when he's still gotta make a few more finals runs in the second half of his career.
He's already in the Top 10 and there's nobody currently under contract who can reaslistically move ahead of him except for Duncan. But even if Duncan wins this race and moves ahead temporarily, Lebron will pass him in the long run. That's what this is about. Lebron is making the long play here. There is a strategy to what he is doing and it is brilliant. LeIQ

Or maybe they're simply just losing to the better team.

no. lebron is something like 'pot committed' here. the physical cost of exerting maximum effort in the next 1-3 games is marginal in comparison to the legacy benefit he would acquire if he is able to win the chip (and 3-peat no less), despite unfavorable odds.
if he is performing some kind of legacy-utility calculus, he should be going all in. of course, if he's not up to it, we might say that the marginal cost in the short run, in terms of mental fatigue, is prohibitive; ie, he's being a huge fckingpussy.
