Greatest players to break down too quickly
What are some of the greatest players who we only got to watch perform at their peak for a short while?
Some names that come to mind are:
T-Mac (8 good years, multiple injuries within that span)
Gilbert Arenas (29 ppg scorer that was never the same after Crash crashed into him)
Brandon Roy (Peaked and then his knees ruined him)
Penny Hardaway (Incredible for 3 years and then he broke down)
Dwyane Wade (Has only played 5 seasons of more than 70 games, body is shot at 32)
Rose (Yet to be seen, hope he doesn't wind up on this list)
Those are just some off the top of my head. I'm interested to see what other players people think of. It's crazy how many incredible players only peak for a few years before injuries start setting in.

What am I trying to do?
I got the idea from some thread where T-Mac was ranked above Manu and I disagreed because of his health and lack of playoff success.

Yea that's a good point.
Technically, Larry only played like 10 seasons. The other three years he was injured for either a good chunk of games or, in the case of the 88 season, almost all of them.

Chris Webber broke at like 30 years old.

Very good NBA starter
Re: Greatest players to break down too quickly
Penny and Brandon Roy (and most of the others that were listed) were severely injured. We can point to one injury with them that fukked their whole career up in an instance.
Wade has just slowly deteriorated and his style of play isn't the type to translate to age 32 and beyond.

Re: Greatest players to break down too quickly
Ovinton J'Anthony Mayo, the guy who was once dubbed as the next Kobe, had a great rookie season but since then he has fallen off big time. Last season he started coming off the bench for the Milwaukee Bucks
He really let himself go. Dude gained a couple pounds and got that Ed Reed homeless man look.
Another guy I'd like to mention is Brandon Roy. After watching him from his 3rd or 4th season I knew he was going to be something special. Like a Kobe type of player in his prime... that's what I imagined him to become. But then injuries came... F*ck injuries man.
