He's only got one year left on his deal and the Knicks are in rebuilding mode.
You'd be better off getting something like OKC's 21st pick and letting Phil take a blank slate that he thinks can be a solid piece in the triangle.

Knicks all da way

Yeah last year I would have done the trade at the deadline with OKC. Pissed me off when the Clippers got involved to cokblok that trade, didn't want a Darren Collson. Lamb for Shump? I can guarantee you that the moron Brooks is more likely to play Shump because of his effort on D (and with strength) than he is to play da brodie

He's basically a shorter version of Sefolosha.

Thunder should do this even if they can get Meeks in free agency actually. Just another quality player at a position they desperately need help at...and his salary is low and expires soon.
He's a decent shooter from three when he's wide open also.
The Thunder need to make a shift and get Durant to buy in defensively anyway...and this helps a lot.
The Thunder should try to be the best defensive team in the league next year...and;
WB
Shump
Durant
Ibaka
Adams
Could easily do that. Easily...

Re: Iman Shumpert Possibly Getting Traded on Draft Day?
Durant bought in defensively last year. And two years ago he made a big jump on defense.
inb4 Ryan Kelly gif
look at games like okc vs houston where okc held houston 18 second half points. durants defense was the primary reason for that.
if brooks can get him some more rest and trust someone like PJ3 more as the backup SF then he'd also have more energy for that end of the floor.
but yeah OKC w/ a healthy Shump could easily be the best defensive team in the league.

I know he's improved, but he has a lot of room to grow on that end given his length and athleticism.
My point is that if the Thunder got a guy like Shumpert and added another piece potentially.

Re: Iman Shumpert Possibly Getting Traded on Draft Day?
Shump getting real overrated ITT
He's too fond of his dribble pull-up and starts chucking when the team offense is stagnant (hello 13-14 Knicks). His value was negative apart from the Texas roadtrip when he destroyed his matchups to the tune of 27 ppg on 70 FG% along with 6 made threes per game. That was incredible. Otherwise, he largely sucked. Played out of control, had poor shot selection and shot poorly, while also developing a gambling habit on defense that hadn't existed before.
He could of course blossom in OKC because, let's face it, the Knicks certainly don't provide the right environment for a player like him to grow. But so far, he's been highly overrated.

No worries, I'm sure that Scott Brooks and the boys can coach him up

OKC definitely seems like a good fit for him. I'd like to see that.

NBA sixth man of the year
Re: Iman Shumpert Possibly Getting Traded on Draft Day?
OKC bout to be stacked with Shump on the squad. He was NYK's second best player for Christ sakes now when he's the 4th he'll flourish much better

Who cares if he's over-rated? The 21st pick for a player that plays a position of need and is on a contract that expires after next season at 2.7 million is worth it for sure.

Would love him on OKC

Re: Iman Shumpert Possibly Getting Traded on Draft Day?
Why has he depreciated so much? I thought he was touted as one of the better defenders with a high ceiling to become a top level defensive stopper with good offensive potential, size, handles?
