    Default Wizards 2014 draft results

For the first time since 2009, the Washington Wizards entered the NBA draft without a first-round pick, having shipped it away in the October trade that brought them Marcin Gortat.

Ultimately, the Wizards elected to end their season in a manner similar to the way it began, trading No. 46 overall pick Jordan Clarkson, a point guard out of Missouri, to the Los Angeles Lakers for cash considerations. Washington received just less than $2 million in the deal, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, granting them more flexibility on the free agent market, which opens July 1 and is expected to include Gortat, Trevor Ariza and six other Wizards.

Default Re: Wizards 2014 draft results

Tomas Satoransky, selected 32 overall in the 2012 draft, intends to continue his basketball career overseas, Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld confirmed following Thursday's NBA Draft.

Satoransky, 22, entered free agency after his latest season in Spain's top league, Liga ACB. The Wizards previously believed the 6-foot-7 point guard would join the team for the Las Vegas Summer League as he did during the summer of 2012. From there, perhaps the heady passer and athletic presence would stay stateside for the upcoming season. Instead, Satoransky will remain in Liga ACB, joining European power Barcelona and possibly thru 2016.
