For the most part a Post Up is when Hakeem starts with his back to the basket. Isolation is strictly a face up move. Remember he used to do that crossover dribble from as far out at the 3 point line and pull up for a quick jumper.

yea that's why im surprised his "isolation" efficiency seems so low. hakeem had a lot of moves where he posted up then pivoted and did a face up move...

He was a bit more effective with a pull up jumper (44.8%) & driving to the basket (68.4%). It was usually set up by his crossover dribble.

    Good stuff

I got a question though: If a player catches the ball with his back to the basket but then faces up - Do you count that as an iso or post-up?

Second best player I've ever seen. Would have a GOAT level career if circumstances were more favorable IMO.

Depends how quick the move is made. There are certain times he would faceup in the post, but for the most part it was either his hook shot or baseline fadeaway. Plus he preferred the left block a lot more than the right.

Amazing midrange stats for a big on good volume. That's actually what stood out to me most when watching a replay of one of the Rockets/Knicks finals games on NBA TV a couple of months ago - dude was automatic in that 12-16 foot area.
