Plus, he's expiring anyway.
Hardaway is a pretty good young guard, and the pick could end up being in the lottery.

Lin/Randle/Kobe Still will probably miss the playoffs if they don't make more moves.

with that MPC swing.
Re: BREAKING: Rockets close to trading Jeremy Lin to the Lakers
Courtesy of LG:
"Two informed insiders have told Charged FM Brooklyn that Carmelo Anthony and Phil Jackson are currently at a stalemate.
The Knicks and Lakers are in talks on a sign and trade that would send Pau Gasol to the Knicks, and ship Andrea Bargnani, Tim Hardaway Jr., and a 1st round pick to Los Angeles.
Anthony wants the deal made to pair up with Gasol and be in a position to compete this season. Jackson is hesistant in making the deal because he doesn't want to trade Hardaway who he reportedly hasn't been shopping at all.
Both don't see eye-to-eye, and word is if Jackson doesn't make the trade Anthony could balk and go to the Chicago Bulls."

Do we have any kind of protection on the pick that we traded to the Suns for Nash?

I believe it's top four or five protected, which basically means the Lakers cannot tank. No way they are worse than the Kings or the four or five worst teams in the east with a Healthy Kobe.

Except they were both productive with the Rockets. Lin was not.

Lin was productive considering his short leash and being a 4th option.

One thing I want to see is Lin getting more credit for his D. It's not just good...it's pretty damn good, imo.
You can talk about his lack of handles or weak going to his left or his turnovers...but the one thing that might end up keeping Lin in this league and serviceable for a long time is his defense.

Dragic's best season in Houston was 12/5. Lowry posted 14/6.5. Lin 13/6.
You're talking out your ass. You didn't answer, what happened to Goran "12/5" Dragic and Kyle "14/6" Lowry when they left Houston?
