I couldn't careless about the towers used as I've had zero issues with dropped calls nor browsing on any site.
Net10, for example, uses both Verizon/AT&T towers depending on if you have a CDMA or GSM phone, and I had numerous drop call issues.
Firstrow doesn't demand high speeds. Streaming Ballstreams in HD or YouTube in HD will demand higher speeds than Republic Wireless.
I dunno LTE is just so fluid. I could never go to a non-LTE phone at this point, especially when ST has it available for $45 a month. Never had a dropped call on ST w/ the AT&T Sim card.

Yea, AT&T sucks ass in this area. Almost no one has it and anyone who has had it switches to Verizon or U.S. Cellular.
It sucked when I moved down here 5 years ago from Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

I've had little buffering with YouTube, ProjectFreeTV, SolarMovie and even Netflix as well. And keep in mind, this is just with the 3G plan.

I don't do much YouTube or streaming on the phone. Mostly just forum browsing or checking Twitter, Facebook, news and Google Maps.

Personally in my area Verizon has the best coverage as far as cell phone reception and data is concerned, but the most expensive as well. The next best option for coverage is U.S. Cellular, then Sprint. AT&T is horrible here and not sure on T-Mobile (zip code is 54650).
Anyway I've been looking into things like Straight Talk. which is $45/month unlimited text/data/talk per phone, but the issue is finding a phone that is compatible with their system.
Any opinions on what I should look into?
Dude go with page plus.
they use verizions 3g network and have the cheapest plans or you can do pay as you go.

Can you bring an unlocked phone onto their system? All their phones look pretty shitty.

Re: Cell Phone Carrier Opinions?
Whomever gives you the most data usage at the lowest available price.
Everything else us secondary.

yeah you can flash a phone to them either yourself by learning how to (it's all done on a computer) or just by paying someone like 40 bucks to do it
