DIrk obviously played in the stronger era, but almost nobody considers Dirk better than Malone. Malone is the #2 all time PF pretty solidly.

more help? malone played his career with frickin top 5 (top 10) pg stockton and lights out hornacek. Also had a supposedly good coach in Sloan as well (even though the three players might have rubbed off more on him than otherwise).

I think it's a fair assumption that Nowitzki is better, but in PF battles, one can always argue otherwise because of different time/different player style.
