Re: Patrick Ewing and David Robinson were overrated
I would take a prime DRob over anyone in the league today. 30/12-13/2-3 block per easy. Scoring champ + defensive player of the year.
He would eat this era's pansy bigs alive.
Robinson just ran into an even more clutch force in the playoffs (Hakeem). To be honest the Spurs never really had great teams around DRob.
Sean Elliot was a decent no.2 option but not elite. Rodman was a headcase that even the Bulls could barely manage.

Why was he so awful against the Jazz?

RIP P
Re: Patrick Ewing and David Robinson were overrated
Name more than 1 elite player playing right now who isn't an "underachiever in the playoffs".
Both of them would murder this league.

Which series specifically?
The Jazz were a pretty damn good team too, probably like the modern Spurs of their era, they frustrated a lot of teams that had "more talent" on paper including a prime Shaq and his Lakers.

No shame in having bad series' against the Jazz, Utah had a way of frustrating certain teams. Had their way with Shaq's Lakers for several years too. But that 94 Spurs didn't really have a go to no.2 scorer either -- it was basically Dale Ellis.
The Jazz were a great team too, the 97 and 98 Finals are probably the hardest the Bulls had to work to win their titles.
The West was really interesting back then because it seemed like every team had another team that was their kryptonite ... Houston couldn't beat Seattle, Utah had huge problems with Houston, Seattle had problems with Phoenix, etc. etc.

Re: Patrick Ewing and David Robinson were overrated
I'd take admiral over anyone in today's NBA. Ewing I would take over everyone but KD

Good college starter
Re: Patrick Ewing and David Robinson were overrated
Ewing and Robinson by themselves would DESTROY today's league. Dwight Howard who?

Re: Patrick Ewing and David Robinson were overrated
The 90s wasn't just the best era for centers it was probably the best era for power forwards too.
Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Shawn Kemp, Dennis Rodman, Chris Webber etc.
There were a lot of talented "bigs".
