Chicago is playoff team with elite defense. MVP Rose didn't really carry the team single handily like LeBron's Cavs or Howard's Magic. He just gave them that tiny boost to elite level.

But truth to be told, Rose was probably the worst MVP within the recent decades. It is completely unrealistic to expect him to play at high level after blowing out both knees and having to rest for ~2 years.
