why isn't black thought ever mentioned as a GOAT candidate?
the dude is arguably better now than in the 00s, he is a primary part of a discography that i consider the greatest of all time and undoubtedly one of the best, he's been doing it for about 20 years now, and still can kill your favorite rapper on any given track in 2014. so the question is, why isn't he at least argued anywhere as GOAT. I can understand if u put someone ahead, but nowhere do i ever hear or see him mentioned with the mount rushmores, if you will. thing is someone like jay-z is mentioned as a goat candidate, who self-admittedly dumbed his product down and has a catalog rife with filler

I understand what you mean, I think maybe he isn't as mainstream as some of the other GOATs. I mean, I don't know many people that know about him or the Roots. But even a person that doesn't listen to rap or hip hop knows who Jay-Z is. But yeah Black Thought is an amazing rapper no doubt.
