I use to hate Kobe hard for a long time but as time went on and the longer his career went the more and more respect I had for him to the point where I actually want to see the guy play and watch some form of greatest (he's past his peak) before it completely goes away.

You know what? I sometimes I feel same way with certain athletes. I hate that particular athlete growing up and root against them but over time I gain whole new respect and admiration for their careers when they get past their peak/prime. You have to respect greatness when you see it even if you hate them once upon a time.
