They could have each gone to Miami sans S&T if they were willing to give up that extra year, but they wanted the extra guaranteed $ (though the last 2 years of the original deals were player options).

Miami sent Cleveland 2 first rounders, 2 second rounders, and the right to swap first-round picks in 2012 to complete the S&T.
Fact: what is written above, this is what happened. We didn't have to do that but we got some things back in return. I think one of those picks we got is a first rounder in like 2016 or 2017. If the Heat end up going down, we get a fresh first round pick. Which could also be a valuable trading tool.

The last first-rounder that Miami agreed to send to Cleveland will be conveyed for the 2015 draft, provided MIA does not have a top 10 selection. However, this pick was included in the Kevin Love trade and then re-routed to Philly for Thaddeus Young.

Cleveland did have a future Kings pick that was traded to Chicago for Deng, but they still have a future Memphis first rounder that could be valuable. I think that's the only future first that they are still owed by another squad.

I just saw this. What the fuck is wrong with you? You're like Lebron's personal Stepford Wife.

If your eye for picks is anything like your eye for flops, then the "Jordan flopping" compilation that you're supposedly working on is going to be the biggest disappointment since The Phantom Menace.

Pauk just tries to defend LeBron in every way he can. For example, let's just go ahead and say that LeBron intentionally murdered someone and all the evidence was there. Pauk would probably go on national TV and say LeBron did it on accident. Then he would "try" to dig up the evidence for it. Works hard, stays up all night and in the end he finds absolutely nothing. Pauk is that type of dude lol.

I caught a lot of flak from my brothers for not believing James suffered from sudden amnesia there and tried to set a pick for his former team. But it seemed awfully preposterous to me and appeared to be a mis-communication between Cavaliers leading to weird interaction. No matter how often a player changes teams (even in pick-up ball), a guy doesn't suddenly set an offensive screen while playing defense, particularly if he'd spent the past three to four months with that new team.

Anyhow, the reasonable and logical explanation from those involved, for those interested in the reason and logic of things:

A clip of the play in question went viral, leaving many to wonder whether James had momentarily forgotten which team he plays for now.

"For non-basketball people," James began with a smirk when asked about the apparent blooper before the Cavs played the Indiana Pacers in Cincinnati on Wednesday, "our coverage is for me to show and for Delly (Dellavedova) to go under me and we just didn't get the call right at the time. Delly was supposed to slide under me and we kind of ran into each other.

"So, for non-basketball people, they like to critique everything that I do. It's stupid."

Dellavedova had a similar account of the flubbed defensive coverage.

"My family sent me the link of it," Dellavedova told ESPN.com. "He just showed out (on the ball handler) and I just needed to go under. So, it wasn't really anything. I mean, you know how the media can get, right? It's obviously more crazy with anything involving LeBron."

Dellavedova said that it wasn't until he saw the video of the play just how strange it appeared.

"Didn't even realize," Dellavedova said. "Just a normal basketball play."
