Larry Bird in a podcast with Bill Simmons said it was Bill Laimbeer because he said that Laimbeer actually tried to injury other players rather then do a dirty move to remove them from a play.

Guys like Malone got dirty within the flow of the game though. That elbow was on a legitimate contest, not something out of nowhere. (He did it on purpose though, no doubt.) I don't mind that.

Guys like Kobe and Wade do that bitchy retaliation stuff. i.e. Wade pulling Rondo down. To me that's dirtier than a Malone elbow.

With Malone you knew that could happen, with 'nicer guys' like Wade and Kobe if you block their shot or shut them down look out for something.

Laimbeer is the dirtiest though.
