Is Scott the man to do that though? Didn't he say during summer league and pre-season that they did a week straight of defensive drills? Wish we could've gotten Lionel Hollins, or that JVG would've made a comeback.

for strictly defensive purposes, scott can and sadly will be that guy. The idea of rotations is there, but the team is full of low defensive-IQ players. Boozer, a shining example, often times positions his body in the compelete opposite way. he'll rotate over, but with his body positioned wrong, he gives an open lane to the basketball everytime. its soooo terrible to watch, and the rest of the team just gets as lost

Hollins would have been fantastic. Im liking what im seeing from the nets on both offense and defense. but jim buss is gonna jim buss :/

All signs from Kobe and Scott point to Jeremy Lin being the franchise PG of this team for years to come.

No need to get Dragic or draft someone... they should be focusing on getting big men and DEFENSIVE help.

I don't care what The Lakers or Kobe say, it was best for Kobe to pull a Duncan or Dirk. And that means u take siginificantly less and ASSURE your teams gets quality pieces to contend with. If u strike out on the superstar free agents, u can still round out the roster with very good or even All-Star kind of talent. The Mavs did an AWESOME job filling out there roster with getting Chandler, Jameer, Parsons, Felton, Charlie V., Jefferson, and Barrea. Kobe could have taken enough of a paycut to round out the roster A LOT MORE BETTER!

Don't get me wrong, I blame the Lakers more than Kobe. And Kobe has done so much for the franchise he deserves the money. BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS the team wasn't positioned to really make a huge impact free agent or trade wise. U give yourself the most options u can to thrive in that setting. Once they struck out on adding a superstar next to Kobe, they still didn't have enough cap space to round out the roster the way Dallas or the Spurs could.
