Kobe and Shaq sustained a level of greatness for 3 consecutive years that Stockton and Malone could never reach so.....

Peak wise, I'm taking Kobe-Shaq. GOAT wise, I would say Magic-Kareem. Even though I'm sure some will throw Cousy-Russell in there. I do think Stockton-Malone should be applauded for their longevity being a great duo. Both have longevity being great players at their respective positions that is damn near UNEQUALED! I think one that got robbed due to injuries to both guys was T-Mac-Yao. If they both stayed healthy until their early 30's at least, I think they get rings. But peak wise if I had to say a top five, I would say Kobe-Shaq, Magic-Kareem, Bird-McHale, Dr.J-Moses, and Stockton-Malone.

Kobe and Shaq are both individually better players than Stockton and Malone. But, they won the rings not just based on their talent and ability. Having one of the greatest coaches of all time along with good supporting cast who came up with some big plays/shots in the end like Fisher, Big Shot Bob etc helped their case big time as well. Not saying Stockton and Malone are better but its not as simple as just rating them based on how many rings they have won. Circumstances matter as well.

As for the topic, I prefer these two:-
