Default KJ McDaniels with a highlight for the ages

I'm not sure if I've ever seen anyone do this in a regular season game.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKKLvMsKI0k

And the move helped him get the basket...it wasn't just done to look cool.

PS...KJ McDaniels is player on the Philadelphia 76ers.

The guy in your username did it a couple times in Orlando. Kobe probably. I can't remember a specific play, but I remember him doing it.

    Nice move tho.

Always felt this should be a travel, like it is or used to be in FIBA.
Call me a party pooper or whatever, it's an unfair advantage in my eyes.
You have no where to go, so you pass to yourself, which only ever comes off because no one expects it, as it's a violation in any other circumstance.
And it's actually not that hard to complete, once you think to complete it.

I've seen Lebron do it in Miami at least twice.

It's basically a missed field goal attempt. How can it be a travel?

I don't know why players don't do it more. It seems pretty easy for the athletic guys in the NBA as long as they have the room. They probably just don't think about it in the heat of the moment. I bet the NBA would ban it if guys starting doing it too much. It would start to get viewed as a cheap way to score sorta......

No it's actually a pass. He is passing it to himself, not shooting it.
It used to be travel, as it's an obvious pass to yourself. It is clearly not a shot.

What differentiates a pass from a shot? Marion's shot looks like a pass. Should it be considered a pass?

So does it count as a field goal attempt and a missed shot on the stat sheet?

The intent of the player, which any ref anywhere near an NBA court can tell.

It was the the FIBA rule for sometime, not sure if they bowed to entertainment yet or not.
