If you want a performance against a GOAT defensive team, look at his game 2 vs Detroit in 2004:

33/4/7 51% fg with the game tying 3 with 2.1 remaining.

Game 1 against the Magic is definitely better than that

So many idiots just look at numbers only.

Kobe's play calling, spacing and tempo control wAs genius in that game.

Celtics defense as good as they were and more deep than the lakers had no clue what to do, cause kobe was out there playing chess

Thank you. Plus, it was a must win for LA.

No, but in all seriousness 29 points on 34% shooting is the best performance of his career?

And that was a game 3 win not even a series clincher.

No wonder he only has 2 FMVP's in 7 finals appearances

But you're talking about a career 40%fg shooter in the finals. 34%fg is not considered an anomaly for him. He's always shot like a blind man in the finals.

    Also had better games in 01, 02, 09 & 10.

Don't know what OP is talking about

I'd take game 5 of the same series over the game in the OP.

    38/5/4/1/1 on 48%.

The game that had JVG calling for Kobe to be FMVP regardless of the series outcome..

Nobody else on the lakers showed up, Kobe almost won the game by himself, series should have been over in 6.

Jordan lost when he dropped 63, doesn't mean he didn't have a phenomenal game
