Whoever comes out of the West should have an asterisk due to OKC being injured.

Re: Serge Ibaka undergoes knee surgery, will miss 4-6 weeks
The reason Ibaka didn't play through the pain was because the swelling and stiffness in that knee was getting worse, and his knee wasn't plateauing, even after having his knee drained and addressing the injury with medication. It continued to worsen in spite of treatment.
Oklahoma City is done, at least for this year.

because playing through pain makes it worse. instead of it being an injury where he can still recover from, it'll turn into a career-ending injury.
only idiots harp on about "playing through pain" and put that on a pedestal like it's a virtue.
btw, these same guys wouldn't even be able to do what they preach (playing through pain)

Has a potential, legit contender ever been this snakebitten by injuries over the course of an entire season? Hell, even if you include non-contenders and every team in every season in NBA history, the 2014-2015 Thunder have to be right up there with the most legitimately injury-riddled, snakebitten teams ever. I'm not counting the tanking teams that just start saying everyone is injured at various points one month into the season.

When is KD coming back? If he's still out for a couple more games i don't think it's possible for OKC to make it. Damn, it's almost like a whole lost season for KD, just 27 games so far

Matt Pinto is the radio voice for the Oklahoma City Thunder and before Monday's game against Dallas he said that Durant was likely out another week or possibly two weeks. Take that for whatever it is worth.
I took it to mean that as Durant began ramping up his workouts to return that some of the pain also returned to his foot, so they have slowed down his come back. I thought he would have been back two weeks ago.
I believe it is time for OKC to shut him down for the rest of the season. They would've had a chance to beat Golden State in the first round if they were fully healthy and had time to hit peak form, not to mention learn his new teammates, but there's no way they can beat Golden State with this rash of injuries with KD only having a couple weeks to prepare for the playoffs, that is if he's even healthy, and Ibaka now out until at least the start of the playoffs.
It is time to pull the plug on the season and call it what it is, which is a lost season.
