Southwest Division Stacked

just noticed this. but possibly all teams from this division may make it to the playoffs.

even if Pels miss playoffs, that's still 4 teams (Hou, Mem, Dal, SA) from one division!

It's been stacked for over a decade. 2004-2005, Mavs and Spurs as top WC teams, Spurs were the eventual champs, Rockets still had Yao and McGrady, Grizzlies had Pau Gasol and prime-ish Miller, New Orleans sucked but would draft Chris Paul that summer.

It's pretty incredible how an incredible competitive division can still routinely get 3-4 teams into the playoffs, since they have to play each other the most and that last few seeds are only ever separated by a few games.. Although as a Rockets fan, I'm rooting for the Thunder to make it, got to get the Pelicans pick this draft.

it is pretty stacked in comparison to the other western divisions. Same with the central division in the east which has 4 playoff teams as well.
