Comic book super hero movies are the scourge of modern cinema
Their popularity, let alone existence, would make Stanley Kubrick leave the business if he were alive today.

I like a mix between popcorn flicks and more serious cinema.

They've basically just taken the place of the action hero movies of the 90s.

If by "comic book movies" you mean "Adam Sandler movies" then I agree

I don't like them but I don't mind them, I think their popularity is a bit crazy though, but there isnt a movie quota per year so don't worry, their existance won't stop good movies from being made, just ignore them, I doubt kubrick would give a damn about them, if anything I could see him directing something like watchmen or v for vendetta

Big action movies have been around since the 80s. Kubrick seemed to be OK with it.

Not with the massive popularity and funding that they have today, relatively speaking.

A lot of them lack originality.. Too many ride the curtails of earlier productions
Guardians Of The Galaxy was a fresh hit. It was like superhero meets Star Wars, and it had a fun vibe. The soundtrack was gold.
Spiderman 2 was a classic. Unique, original.
The Batman trilogy was GOAT level stuff. Nolan changed the game. So many movies have tried to copy it.
Iron man 1 was good. Fell off a cliff from there. Downey Jr wit and humor can only get you so far.

Yeah you're right. Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Rocky, Batman, Top Gun, etc. weren't big hits.
Dumbass.

I agree. They are getting recycled so much it's ridiculous.

Comparing Star Wars, Rocky and Top Gun to today's super hero movies is idiotic.

So is saying Kubrick wouldn't direct because others make different genres of movies popular.
