the fact that the rockets got the 2nd seed at the very last second because of a tie breaker rule doesnt improve his MVP chances by much.

It actually does. He needs all the narrative he can get.

This isn't football, Clips and Houston both play the same Western Conference opponents four time. It's just sheer bad luck that they have Golden State.

not really, not enough games in the season to do it that way
you play
Four against each team in your own division
Four against 6 randomly chosen teams in your conference
Three against the remaining 4 teams in your conference
and the 2 games per team in the other conference
So conference play is not the same for any two teams, it can be but it also can be different, easier or harder
best way to guarantee a top spot is to win your conference

The schedule are close enough. It's not dramatic like Football.
If you really believe this, and put emphasis on winning division, Portland should be seeded 3rd. Which is why they changed it in the first place.

His team just won the toughest division in the league. (barely, but just goes to show how tough the division is)

Haters grasping at straws. Houston is 2nd in the West, fact. You don't like it? Win your division, period.

Not hating, my best friend is a Houston fan. The Clips have pretty much same schedule, they also played Spurs, Memphis, Houston four times, and Dallas three. NBA Conference is what matters, not divisions.

Houston have been stuck in a Division with the Spurs for decades, I'm not feeling sorry for the way the NBA use the tie braker. They could have just won one more game or win the head to head. Clippers was the healthier team.
