Re: Formal dressing
The jacket seems to be most of the cost. Ties around $30-50, pants around $60-100, shirts are $40-70, shoes are $60-120. So let's say you get 4 shirts, 2 ties, and 2 pants:
Cost between
2(30)+2(60)+4(40)+60= $400 OR
2(50)+2(100)+4(70)+120= $700
You could go much much cheaper with bargains and deals, but beware. I've bought dress shirts that are regular $90 and marked down to $15 or $20, so you're thinking wow a great deal! But no, that shirt is flawed or counterfeit and will fall apart quickly. Pants are whatever though, get those cheap if possible. Just make sure your shirts are quality.

Thanks. I figured those would be the prices. Express has 3 for $99 shirts. Should I pull the trigger and get it or that's common for express?
I'm fearful about pants. I want something slim straight not too baggy.
****ing ties are so expensive.
Edit: what shoes should I wear with the pants? Would any shoes do justice? Or is this something people are picky on? Color matching? Black dress pants with black dress shoes? Or can I mix and match?
Those were the ones that caught my liking. Let me know if I'm off lol. Also, watches. I need a new watch. Something to go either the look. Leather band, something affordable.

When it comes to style, people doubt the existence of mine. I think I'm stylish, but I've been told otherwise. My go to suit is grey with a blue teal dress shirt, matching tie, black shoes. Apparently grey suits are a faux pas, but I like them.

You ain't a cowboy who's going to wear jeans, you can't wear formal black pants (assuming you're getting this) with brown shoes imo.
The black one is tooooo formal also.

This is how a man should dress.

I just paid a grand for two nice tailored suits and shirts and I'm done. Luckily, my office is casual, I'm wearing a quick dry gym shirt today because its a hot day.
Go to a more traditional store, they should have more to choose from... places like Brooks Brothers have more options for sizing

Not black or muslim for starters... and if we're talking about who everyone is from this thread i've already gathered youve been here for nearly a decade yet no one gives a shit about you or what you have to say
And going back to OP, my best suits have come from nordstromes rack... get some quality 1-2k suits for half off.

Please don't hurt my feelings over the Internet, as you can tell I care about that.
