I don't understand why you guys take a troll tweet from PJackson so seriously. Are we really grasping at straws?

Recent Champions (Runner Ups, Confernce Finals Teams)
    2014 Spurs: 16th (Heat 15th, Pacers 25th, Thunder 14th)
    2013 Heat: 6th (Spurs 7th, Grizzlies 30th, Pacers 15th)
    2012 Heat: 23rd (Thunder 12th, Spurs 7th, Celtics 24th)
    2011 Mavs: 5th (Heat 15th, Bulls 17th, Thunder 19th)

All middle of the pack to last place in the league. This will be the first season in a long time, maybe ever (haven't checked) that top 4 3-point attempt teams will battle it out in the conference finals. Like I said, it's an anomaly, not part of a trend. You'd have to wait a few seasons and see the same phenomena happen more than once before you can label it as that.

And of course Phil's Lakers won in 2010 (3 finals in a row, b2b championships) running the triangle without an over reliance on the 3. It's all about talent (or in the case of the East... lack of talent) like someone above pointed out.
I actually wasn't disagreeing with your post. Just adding some commentary. High volume 3's doesn't mean you'll win unless you can shoot them effectively.

It is worth noting though that the Heat did take more 3PA per game than any other team in the 2012 playoffs aside from San Antonio, and Orlando. The Heat, Spurs, Thunder, and Magic were the top 4 in 3PA that year and 3 of those teams were in the conference finals.

PJax can't coach, he just rode Michael Jordan's and David Stern's coattails.

I agree. Hopefully he can GM though, the draft will be his first test.
