Default Why does this board overrate the Thunder so much?

Even if KD and Westbrook are healthy, the rest of the team is mediocre. The Warriors are easily deeper than any team in the league and would smoke OKC in a series.

KD owned that crappy Warrior with 1 leg. Imagines healthy?

When you have 2 top 5 players you don't need to be that deep. Just get shooters and defenders around them and they will be fine. I would be surprise if anyone comes out of the West other than Spurs, Warriors and Thunder.

Because although "team" basketball has made a resurgence with the Warriors and Spurs recently winning titles, people still consider it a players league. Meaning the team who has the best 2-3 players is typically favored to win any game/series.

Then you look at the Thunder, and they have two Top 5, MVP caliber players, surrounded with solid role-players. Assuming everyone is healthy, I have the Thunder as the favorites next season, followed by the Warriors, Cavs, and Spurs.

It sounds like the better question is this, why do you underrate Oklahoma City so much?

This team went to three conference finals in four years, including going to the NBA finals, and the only year they didn't make it to at least the conference finals (before this season) was when Russell Westbrook was injured in the playoffs against Houston.

If healthy, this team has been a top two or three team in the league over the last four or five seasons; not to mention having two of the top five players in the world and one of the top two or three shot blockers in the world.

Congratulations to Golden State on their championship because they were clearly a great team. But let's also be honest, Golden State was extremely fortunate not to have to play a healthy Oklahoma City team, the Houston team was down several starters and Cleveland playing without two of their three best players. Golden State may be the fourth best team next year behind OKC, SA and Cleveland.

It's just a few thunder fans who are huge homers. They are loud and obnoxious so it sounds worse than really is.

A healthy Thunder >>> banged up Cavs team that took the Warriors to six with Lebron shooting under 40%.

Thunder have good pieces around KD and Westbrook. A healthy thunder team will be a title contender.

Because they have Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka and no1curr what else.

If healthy they will easily be one of the top 3 teams in the West.
