Imo peak Yao > Magic Howard as a player.

But the way that Magic team was structured really got the most out of Dwight. It was a perfect system for him to thrive. He did have a couple incredible seasons there where he was definitely top 3-4 in the league.

if they were going to lose out on Hedo for sure
a player similar to the caliber of Sam Cassell really could have done wonders to that team, which would leave them the room for improvements in youth

Gerald Wallace/Lewis/Howard also would have been an ill combination


if they don't lose out on Turkoglu
similar to Lowry getting his extension (which is odd, since apparently losing team do these type of deals but not the winning ones)

they would have to find the back court of Brandon Bass, since that's who they thought could have replaced Turkoglu with Carter.

Kevin Martin probably would have been that guy.
