DeMarre Carroll says goodbye to Atlanta, a letter he wrote.

Great read. Even if not Hawks fan, you should read it. It's amazing that he actually wrote a goodbye letter.
But the Hawks organization is bad?

DeMarre shouldn't be surprised that Quinn told him it was ok to take risks.

Damn, Demarre must be feeling good af. He made 7.9m in his entire NBA career combined, worked hard af to sniff playing time, finally came to ATL and was a starter, and now has a 4yr/60m contract. Big ups, I can't imagine what it felt like to put ink onto that contract, mouth watering

Re: DeMarre Carroll says goodbye to Atlanta, a letter he wrote.
What does a player writing a letter have to do with the general quality of the organization? Guys have written goodbye letters to cities that then missed the playoffs 10 years in a row and became laughing stocks.
The Hawks had a great year with an awful ending. Time will tell how this era of the team will be remembered. I assume they will have another 50+ win season.....but who knows? The east has been hard to predict lately.

What do you expect?
Anyway I'll always like DeMarre for what he accomplished here. I'm not sure he'll fit in as well in Toronto in a vastly different offensive system but I'll cheer him when the Raptors are here.

If he plays like crap, then yeah, they'll turn on him pretty quick. He is the highest paid player on the team right now.

Re: DeMarre Carroll says goodbye to Atlanta, a letter he wrote.
Call it what you will. Equating the often done free agent choosing to leave and writing a letter to a city with the organizations success or quality is just nonsense.
Arron Afflalo has written two goodbye letters. Aldridge just did one. Dwight did one. And Carmelo Anthony. And Amare. Players do it every single offseason often to cities they ****ed over like Dwight in Orlando. Whatever it says about them how does it really reflect on the organizations they chose to leave?
If it doesn't... why am I being asked in a "What say you now?" tone about it now?
