Default 1938 NIT Championship - Temple Owls v.s. Colorado Buffaloes

Don Shields (#4) led the Owls to victory in the inaugural NIT (National Invitation Tournament) championship game and was voted as the 'most valuable player' of the tournament. In 1969 Shields was inducted into the Temple basketball Hall of Fame. During his tenure. Shields achieved All-American honors in 35-36', and again in 37-38', and his Owls compiled a record of 58-14.

That footage is actually really fascinating. I mean this in the best possible way, not as an insult of any kind, but some of those guys' movements kind of remind me of the footage I've seen of CavaliersFTW playing ball, in terms of some of the pretty-athletic-yet-totally-awkward movements and whatnot. Watching those guys attempt free throws was a trip, too.

Always intrigued me how the jumpshot has evolved. Even as recently as the 80s a common jumper then is distinctly different than it is now.

The shot at 7:40 reminded me of a gif I've seen of cavs. Didn't take it as an insult btw, so no worries.

Looked like Ricky Rubio in that footage. Except, they were making shots.

Ahahaha! Your post just proves you don't understand basketball apart from stats because you don't/didn't play the game. Even the GOAT missed a couple of open dunks in his playing days. GTFO you biased ILt loving scrub. Take your bullshit where somebody gives a shit.

Awesome footage. Those 3-point set-shots are crazy.

I've seen lots of 50's and 60's basketball. 30's and 40's not so much.

Everybody is moving, passing the ball, but nobody is cutting hard and being ready to get the ball for a layup. Every attack at the basket is from standstill, after all the movement of men and ball.

These guys' movements remind me of bad player motions in early-mid 90s Nba video games
