Kawhi breaking out this year as the #1 option.

How that Spurs depth looking? Because that's my biggest question mark. I see West, old ass Manu, Patty, Diaw, and a bunch of unprovens.

It's not near what it used to be.

Thankfully our starting five (minus Parker) is elite. We're gonna have to rely on them to win this year.

It's a good immediate second unit too. But after that it's pretty pitiful. Jimmer needs to be cut.

Besides the fact that Pau never performed like a bottom-tier starter? Or that he never had a Playoff series of 10/3 on 35% shooting? Or that he never shot 15/75 in an 8 game streak?

Of course there's hate against Parker. He's getting paid $15 million a year and he can't even keep himself in basketball shape, while guys like Duncan and Manu make peanuts and put in the work.

But let me guess, because he used to be elite he should get a pass?

Im not too worried about the depth, its the scrubs playing for the last spot or two who have been disappointing.

Reggie Williams is still the worst
Bonner can **** off too, he can barely walk these days

    Spurs guys,

Is Boban Marjanovic anything? Or just fodder? I was completely unfamiliar with him but my god, he's huge.

I said in the Heat game thread that I'd be surprised if he gets a lot of playing time this year.

He could turn out to be something, but he's a project right now. He has very slow feet which is disastrous in the PnR, he doesn't have good hands, and he just doesn't seem used to the NBA pace (although I was surprised at how well he can run up and down the floor).

Pop said Kawhi will play some 4 this year, so I think Aldridge has told Pop he'll play some Center until Duncan retires (then I'm assuming he'll want a traditional C).

If he does play some C, the minute spread won't be so bad.

Appreciate the feedback, T_L_P. Figured he might be a little rough since he didn't see time until mid-fourth but I was intrigued when I saw him dunk virtually flat-footed on a couple plays.

The hate is deserved - when our last memory of Parker is (2015 Playoffs):

    10.9 pts / 3.6 asst 36.3%FG 85 ORtg 112 DRtg 6.5 PER -0.3 WS -6.5 BPM -0.2 VORP

When you play that poorly, you're hurting the team and should ask to be benched. It's Pop's fault though - if he had played Mills 10 mins more/Parker 10 mins less, Spurs would have advanced past LAC but maybe he guessed that the team didn't have it in them last year - best to rest up for this year.
