Anyone complaining about the announcement about being gay needs to look at the story again. This isn't significant because he came out as gay, it's significant because Rondo and Rivers (and who knows how many others) have been openly harassing the man in his workplace. It's one thing to call him out for bad calls and shitting reffing (which he knows a lot about), but it is hateful and wrong for them to put him down because of his sexuality. We don't tolerate hate speech about races or religions in the workplace, and we shouldn't allow it for sexual orientation either.

This has clearly been a problem for a while, which is why he is coming out. It's all part of removing plausible deniability from the situation. Now the next time someone says those things to Kennedy they can't pretend they didn't know. In this case Rondo would definitely pretend he didn't know and would get punished by the league by the standards of him saying that to a straight man just out of anger. If it happens again it will be treated as hate speech and the punishment will be worse.

Really well said, I agree with this. It is pretty obvious that this guy is the way he is and it is pretty unacceptable for Rondo, etc. to treat him so disrespectfully. You don't have to agree with his lifestyle or even be nice to him but there is a basic level of respect that should be maintained.

How can a human being born out of love between a MAN and a WOMAN be proud to be gay? Proud to be against nature? Proud to hate their biological design?
