Re: 2016- Yet another long off-season
Looks like there might be a few Euro's left in the 2nd round to stash. I liked Korkmaz and he's still on the board up to 26.
Edit: Ah, Philly just took him with the same plan.

Saw we took Whitehead and couldn't understand why. Traded it to Brooklyn for 55 and some dollarydoos.
Must not be anyone of interest to stash, or they can get them late, or they just want some money for nothing.

I'd guess all 3 could be stashed like Hanlan last year. I was excited about Whiehead because he is a couple years younger than the guys they got.

Looked like a lot of the guys that mocks had going to the Jazz they could have gotten much later on.

Utah now has seven point guards on its roster. That group of playmakers also includes Dante Exum, Shelvin Mack, Raul Neto and Trey Burke.
Believe Hanlan was considered a combo too.
the team still has some needs heading into the free-agency period that begins on July 1.
The Jazz suffered from a lack of wing depth last year
Not sure they need that much help there really. Hayward, Hood, Burks, Hill, Ingles, Johnson and Exum should cover it.

Bolomboy's skill set could very well put him line to possibly replace Jazz power forward Trevor Booker, who spent the last two seasons in Utah but is currently a free agent, on the Jazz roster.
If he's on the roster I certainly wouldn't expect him to be playing at least at the beginning of the year. They see him as a nice local draw to their D-league team if anything.

But why pick up two more point guards? They already got George Hill. I honestly don't see Marcus Paige or Tyrone Wallace making the roster.
Why does everyone think in the short term? These guys might help the Jazz someday like Neto last year. A big part of the Spurs success is they have a lot bigger roster than everyone else because of all the good players they have stashed away. In a couple years these guys could be cheap contracts when the Jazz have little money to spend. The one guy is a 6'5" combo guard. Another multi skilled guy with size.

At the same time, Utah also used second-round picks on Jamie Watson, Robert Whaley, Olivier Hanlan and Kaniel Dickens.
Hanlan might end up helping them still

The addition of Hill gives the Jazz elite defensive length at all five starting positions as well as a starting 1-3 who all shoot nearly 40 percent from the 3-point line, assuming your starters are Hill, Hood and Hayward.
Don't think Maxi G and Hood are that long just tall. Hill/Exum would be great length at the 1/2

all three will have to negotiate deals with the Jazz and then try to make a roster by competing in summer and fall camps.
Ideally they will only be in fall camp if they show something in the summer first and have a realistic shot of making the team. Better to stash them otherwise.

Those possibilities include signing one or both of the drafted guards to a D-League contract, bypassing the Jazz roster and going straight to the Stars.
I imagine that's what the Jazz would like to do that with all of them but it's a lot less money than Hanlan made abroad I'm sure. Hopefully Hanlan will be in the summer leagues with these guys too so we can see how they compare and how he's improved.
Thomas' 5-9 height was his perceived liability. Wallace's weakness is outside shooting. He shot 29.8 percent from 3-point range as a senior, while averaging 15.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists. Wallace scored 26 points against Utah in Cal's overtime loss in the Pac-12 tournament semifinals in March.
NBA teams "love his all-around game," Cal coach Cuonzo Martin said in a school news release this week. "The one thing they question is his ability to hit the 3-point shot. But everything else, they really like. They like his length, his size, his athleticism, his ability to defend, to rebound at that size."
Sounds a lot like the guys they already have. Is his shot broken?

Hill plays point guard, but he also plays shooting guard. At 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, with a long reach, he's capable of playing the wing. Which is to say, he's a versatile player who isn't boxed into the same position as Exum.
Exum is only boxed in by all the media hype. Who knows what he is really. He could defend pg's. Can he right now?
Unless they are wracked and wrecked with injuries again, they'll make the playoffs next April.
Or if the coach doesn't play the best guys available to him.

The Utah Jazz didn't select a draft and stash guy either, but another NCAA Senior, and another guard -- a combo guard from Califorina: Tyrone Wallace.
Same as Hanlan and he was stashed.
