Dwight Howard would be a gross pick up for that team (not in a good way) and I can already see DRose and Melo clashing over usage issues. Both players rely heavily on ISOs. Melo's usage rate was just under 30 and Rose's was just over 27.

Both were way up there in terms of usage for their position.

And, meanwhile, the real future of the franchise is sitting at PF/C. It just doesn't make a ton of sense to me unless the Knicks are playing the long con and are just going to let Rose come off the books next year.

They're a 5-8 seed in the East as it currently stands, best case scenario. Adding Howard wouldn't change that.

And the only way any of this makes sense is if you were going to be a contender. The Rose trade and Howard...if you aren't a contender...that is just awful.

Knicks clearly are not a contender, they are ticket sellers though, thats where they are actually good at.

Sounds fun on paper but the reality is Rose is broken down, Melo is past his prime, and so is Dwight. Also several are headcases.


If they could click along with Porzingis they'd be something but ehh.



That is assuming Howard lands there as well. But most of these pieces don't seem right for one another. They'll sell tickets though for sure.
