Shaq took a couple years but turned Orlando into elite but not champions

No one can carry a team like Lebron

    Kevin Garnett.

The Boston Celtics in the 2006-2007 season won 24 games. Then they acquired Kevin Garnett and won 66 games and won the NBA title. And don't even bring up these Ray Allen bullshit. LeBron wasn't the only person to go to the Cavs. They traded for Love, traded away Waiters and got J.R., Iman and Mozgov.

not denying Jason Kidd made everyone better(like Kenyon for example). Just not really sure he was better than guys like Duncan, Shaq, and Kobe.

    Honest question

Right now, Would you trade 2016 Love for 2007 Ray Allen?

While Lebron deserves everything he gets for winning the title.

Please stop with this narrative. The team didn't have Love and had a bunch of young guys not quite ready.

The grew a lot over the last 2 years.

    Also, that 33 win team didn't have;

    Love
    Frye
    Smith
    Shumpert
    Jefferson

And had much worse versions of Kyrie, Thompson, and Delly...

Like...not even remotely the same teams.

Shumpert, Frye and Jefferson are after thoughts everywhere else... just be real about it. Take the '14 team and they will become equally good contributors under LeBron ball. Those arent big names, man.

Kidd wasn't individually as good as them, but possessed intangibles none of them had (except duncan) that elevated the team far beyond the sum of their parts. Just wish Kidd could've had a 30 ppg iso scorer to lean on, and didn't have to face peak shaq w/ a healthy team.

I could see the early 00s Nets with Kyrie at SG beating a broken down warrior team in 7 as well.

I'm not denying what Lebron can do.

And even if I agree that those guys don't matter...which I don't...you can't ignore that Love was added....and Kyrie and Thompson grew as players over the 2 years.

true, but any team that makes such a giant leap will have some players naturally progress... any team. Its not written anywhere, but it just happens, age and winning culture... the structure is mainly set up by LeBron, hes the main influence and constant. I dont think this team is doing too good if he'd hypothetically leave this year, they need him in there. He doesnt just lead the stats categories, hes also the glue guy... they look good next to him.

Guys like Thompson would look alot worse, Id argue.
