And if you want me to break it down as bluntly as possible

Muscle and strength are correlated with eachother

Most sports it comes down to the Power To Weight Ratio

    Power = Strength and speed

You NEED the strength to maximize power output... No way around this... Thus due to the muscle-strength correlation, muscles are of vast importance

As far as the power to weight ratio, it takes a significance amount of muscle to start to become unnecessary and detrimental to the power-weight ratio

And no, none of the guys posted are close to having "useless mass"

Professional elite athletes like Dwyane and LeBron don't have "Needless mass"

You just don't understand athletics and what goes into a top level athlete

I'll put it in easy to understand context for you

Muscle = Good... Not surprising all olympic sprinters are jacked to the rafters

The scenario of excessive muscle almost never happens in athletics... You and most people who don't understand these things associate muscle with doped up bodybuilders, and that alone
This has always been an under discussed topic

    Jordan's "retirement" growth

Goes to the MLB during a certain "era"

    Trains with Frank Thomas

    Comes back 25 lbs heavier

    Cmon Michael

    Yeah ISB is spot on

There's no such thing as needless mass as a pro

    You play 82+ games

Every fiber has a purpose, a reason

Athletes also don't train like BB's

Most of all their conditioning targets fast twitch muscle

McGuire, Bonds n Sosa's spontanious "needless" muscle had the world actually watching baseball again

Wade has the best physique if you're judging them as if they're bodybuilders. Basketball wise Lebron has the best physique.

[COLOR="DarkRed"]Since Iggy and Jordan are approximately the same height and weight, Jordan would win FMVP by locking down Lebron just like Iggy did in 2015 (when he still had some young legs left), while scoring the same 5-9 ppg above his average that Lebron allowed Iggy and Kawhi.. Can you imagine Jordan scoring 5-9 ppg above his average?... yikes

This had nothing to do with this thread and was a repost of something you've said literally dozens of times already.

Jordan's physique is the best because he has the biggest bone structure at his size.

His bone structure is the biggest among 6'6" players, whereas Lebron's is not.

Jordan's shoulders are the broadest, his arms the longest, and his hands the biggest for someone 6'6"... Lebron can't say the same for 6'8" players.

Give Jordan today's "advanced training" and he would look pretty ridiculous - not that he'd want to - bulky frames in basketball make it harder to slide between defenders and have great jumpshot.. Btw, those pictures were taken in 1988, which is before Jordan bulked up in 1991.

In what way are they not efficient?
These are both guys that were the best at their sport at one time, and completely dominated their field athletically. Wade will go down as one of the most agile and quickest players ever to play the game, while Bron will be remembered as the most athletic player ever. And they aren't efficient?
Do you know what you're talking about?

These guys are 6'4 and 6'8, not 6 foot flat like Ronaldo. Not to mention they have longer limbs/wingspans, so even more weight to be distributed.
