I have zero problem with Islam. I have a problem with some aspects of Islam, for example Sharia law
Ahhh, thanks for bringing up this one.

Let me ask you, Nick,

Do you honestly not have a problem with the 54+ million dead babies since 1970?
Or the divorce/alimony laws?
Or the challenges the youth face from an educational standpoint?
Or the screwed up public schools?
Or the treatment of the elderly?
Or the loneliness faced by widows?
Or the lack of solid loyal parenting done by most?
Or the morbid lack of hope and emptiness most people stuck in a soul-draining job experience without the Light and Hope of Faith?
Or the quality of the food supply?
Or the damage wreacked on the environment?
Or that millions of dollars are spent on things useless to intellectual and spiritual development... that industries where people sell things people should AUTOMATICALLY have (i.e. health, peace, property)
Or that UK2K stuck up for a school policy that banned one's right to have facial hair?
Or that a sister, a friend, or a mother must waste hours upon hours of time to look pretty for men or else she's an ostracized weirdo?

Because UK2K means well, he really does and his intentions might be nice and all, but he sticks up for the aforementioned causes. And every day on ISH there's a new thread that alludes to one clear facet of his psychology, his heart is not at peace.

The goal of Sharia is to maximize happiness in the Afterlife; protect life, education (intellect), progeny, property, dignity, and faith and be an extension of justice and mercy. Thus, compared to the United States Laws they surely don't have the same freedoms nor even close to the entertainment and they certainly can't scratch the surface of the material pleasures in this world.

Therefore, there are severe repercussions against alcohol (extremely damaging to intellect and life), against fornication, against theft (stealing another mans hard earned property/labor), against adultery, against lying, against false testimony, against slander etc as they debase the inherent dignity of the human being and loosen up family ties. It is extremely easy (for a woman) in the West to slip and fall on another man's-hood. It is quite difficult to build a trusting loving marriage. It is extremely easy for a man to get sick of his aging wife. It is difficult, but morally correct to love the matron who is to be one's eternal friend. It is extremely easy to lie and lose one's integrity and credibility and fall into the depths of hell of hypocrisy. It is difficult to lead a life of pure clean truthful sincerity and perhaps more difficult to make peace and purify one's heart. It is extremely easy for the ego to overwhelm a person and take credit for things that aren't really theirs. It is hard to remain humble and give credit and reverence to God alone for all bounties throughout life. It is extremely easy to get attached and fuss over things that weren't meant to last, it's difficult to remember that this life comes and goes and then we all return back to Him.

Thus preventive measures are necessary.

Your aversion is understandable, as without a firm comprehension of what is to come after death (extensively written and relayed by the 124,000 Prophets that came before Muhammad (PBUH), everything and anything looks strange, strict, and too much to bear in contrast to the luxurious pleasurable entertainments and lax laws the materialistic societies have to offer. Likewise, the 613 Mitzvoh Laws in Judaism are difficult to follow. Irregardless, they were commands by God meant for the well-being of a human. A toddler is going to want to reach for the lollipop and not the kale, that toddler's going to think it knows better.

Sorry to say it, but even the most learned amongst us... are toddlers and sheep dipping the edge of our toenails in the oceans of knowledge that have been tapped before us. Thus, we owe it to ourselves, at least on ISH, to LEARN, LEARN, LEARN, LEARN, LEARN, and LEARN some more.

You seem to have an affinity for the Dharmic Religions in attempts to acquire spiritual enlightenment. Perhaps there is great value in the original Vedic Scriptures, and the teachings of Buddha, but you'd be hard pressed to find a legitimate community preserved in its original grandeur. While you're wandering here and there, you're likely in a state of rebellion against God from falling into the deception of the Devil. You ought to know that the Abrahamics have the pure Monotheism and allegiance to One God that facilitates and maximizes well being, as well as the preventive measures against the Devil's machinations.

and the oppression of women in Islamic countries.
Firstly, props for bringing up this issue. It was nice that you had previously spoken of Paradise and the supposedly unfair advantage men get.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2vgRAM1o78

And you stuck up for the use of the headdress.

You're referring to??? Genital Mutilation? That's cultural and outlawed.
The stoning of a rape victim? I don't know the backstory, but the actual Sharia is derived primarily from Surah Nur. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ud0TmH2eojw It additionally has a punishment for any false accusers.

You've lived in California and the UK, correct? Then you should have a loose glimpse at the life of a woman in the West. Are they happy? At peace? Are you sure they're not going to Hell?

The purpose of covering up include:
a) prevent rape at all costs
b) ensure wife reveals her beauty solely for her husband
c) prevent dehumanization
d) prevent women from being eye raped by strange men (there have been instances where a Prime Minister's wife has been hit on by a shoe salesman in Turkey for example)
e) protect women's dignity (most women are elderly)
f) prevent injustice (a beautiful girl gets treated 10000000X better than one who is not so pretty, and it has nothing to do with actions or character or what actually makes the human being) Could you imagine having two daughters (one who had Downs and the other gorgeous and treating them unequally.. it would hurt your heart to do so. Likewise, you naturally felt sympathy for the character of Quasimodo in Hunchback)

If we were samurais under a feudal shogun then we would most definitely have to wear some sort of armor, most definitely have to do things to ensure complete loyalty, keep a sense of equality, be revered for actual accomplishments etc.

Let's just get this straight right now...

I stuck up for it because it was a SCHOOL policy that every single student in the school managed to abide by. A policy ALL of the students were aware of months in advance.

Not only that, the school gave him NUMEROUS opportunities to shave, including requesting he shave the week before his graduation, the day before his graduation, and the day OF his graduation.

He thought he was special, and he wasn't. Hopefully he learned a lesson from it, because when his boss tells him he can't wear a beard during a business meeting, he won't get 20 chances to shave it off, he'll just get fired.

There's very few people who would argue the school was in the wrong, except other people who think they are special.

But as to your overall point, I promise you, my life is good. There's not a whole lot in my life that I can say isn't going as well as I could have imagined. You'd be hard pressed to find a whole lot of people who are as satisfied with life as I am.

Let's break this down sd. I assume you've never been a husband nor a father.

In Saudi, it's understood a women's job is to a) be the guardian of your husband's property and his home and the main caretaker, supervisor, laundrician, chef, psychologist, nurturer (add various domestic jobs) of their children and God willingly, endure the trials of this world and get to Heaven. It's understood the man's primary purpose is to bring home the bread, guard, guide, lead the prayers, and deal with the finances. They will be evaluated after death on behalf of their Faith and Good Deeds.

That's their life mission. What part of the forbidden things are necessary and crucial to complete the mission as excellently as possible?

You make Saudi Arabia sound so innocent

You and I know, that Saudi is full of rape, women oppression, homophobia, violence, paedophilia and other forms of control over the vulnerable.

They also fund worldwide terrorism.

I asked you a question in another thread JMoney...

If Islam and the Quran is pure as you practice and that YOU understand all its intepretations, then how do you expect the majority of muslims who don't understand the Quran in depth like yourself to steer away from the violent and sadistic verses that can easily be taken literally?

But do you know what this leads to? Men in Muslim countries start to think that women without hijab are perfectly fine and acceptable to rape. I have witnessed it in Egypt, Europe experienced it in Cologne with the mass organized rape gangs and the 1,400 children of Rotherham who were raped by the Pakistani rape gang experienced it as well. Not to mention the other children who were raped by organized Muslim rape gangs across the UK.

Why doesn't Sharia teach people to not rape each other regardless of what they're wearing

Other non-Muslim cultures where women do not where hijab do not have close to the level of rape culture that Islamic countries have. I thought Sharia law was supposed to prevent rape so why do the men who follow it rape people at a higher rate compared to men who don't follow it?

I genuinely fail to see any logic in Sharia law.

I judge people more by their actions than I do their words, because too often words say one thing while people's actions say something completely different.

If you want to support Sharia J$ that is fine, you're an American and have freedom of speech and religious practice, that is fine.

I think Sharia laws are oppressive and backwards and lead to people having repressed lives lacking in freedom.

Maybe I am missing out on something because I have never followed Sharia law so don't understand how great it is, but nearly everything I have read about it contradicts my own values about freedom and spirituality.

I am open minded to many things, but I am never going to try out living under Sharia law. That is one thing I am not open to at all and never will be.

Maybe I am missing out on the greatest set of laws ever. Whatever.

If this damns me to hell and eternal punishment from Allah? I genuinely don't care.

But if you think it's the righteous path, by all means continue down it and I do wish you genuine good luck in finding true happiness and peace, that is what all of us on this Earth deserve.
