There have been many players selected to the 1st team all-NBA who weren't Top 10 players.
For example, Deandre Jordan was 1st team this season and he's not a Top 10 player
Joakim Noah was 1st team in 2013, and he also was not Top 10
And many players who win FMVP aren't Top 10 players either (Iguodala, Kawhi, Billups etc)
