Americans are actually some of the nicest people you will meet abroad.

They have worked hard to change that image.

The Chinese are the worst now, and it isn't even close, most countries in Asia are ruined for travel because of hoards of Chinese tour groups flooding every tourist hot spot.

Last year during Chinese new year for example 300,000 Chinese tourists were in Bangkok alone.

They will get better over time hopefully.

They bring big business and I find most Chinese to be respectful of the culture they live in.

Except for their occasional confusion with how to correctly use a toilet and the fact that many don't bother to learn any words or phrases in English, Chinese are very good tourists.

In England, all of the Euros and Africans LOVE American girls. The same way we think their girls have exotic accents, they love American accents. Back in uni, the Euros and Brits and Nigerian dudes I hanged out with would go crazy every time they met a new American girl. Even ones that weren't very hot. It was due to their accents and the way they dress and act. What I considered trashy slut behavior, the Euro and African dudes thought was awesome. Similarly, I really like Euro girls but most of the European dudes were annoyed and bored with them. Everyone likes what they aren't used to.

American girls have a massive reputation abroad as being the easiest and sluttiest. To Euro dudes who dress well and have a Euro accent, an American girl is the easiest lay in the world.

Tourists are generally not liked by the locals, but if I were to rank my preferences over whom I'd rather share a hotel with or have around in a pub, Americans would be near the top along with Spanish and Italians. On the other hand, you absolutely don't want to be around Germans, Russians, East and Southeast Asians.

Americans have a stigma, but it is earned somewhat, because many American tourists are loud, nasally, forthright, and irritating. Americans make themselves heard. In Amsterdam, English tourists are generally an embarrassment.

They also can't hold their booze, and pass out in their seats. I catered for 200 Chinese before (a business function), and it was hilarious; so much effort goes into preparation, making the place, table, seating, and cutlery look nice, etc. and they mangled it all so badly that it was obviously a huge waste of time. Pouring wine into teacups before servers had come round, eating from the saucer rather than plate, and so on.
