How Trump won over a bar full of undecideds and Democrats
YOUNGSTOWN, Pa. — Ken Reed sat down at the main bar of the Tin Lizzy tavern with two things in mind: to dig into the tavern’s oversize cheese steak, and watch the presidential debate.

“I am hungry and undecided, in that order,” he said, digging into the savory dish in a bar that dates back to 1746.

Kady Letoksy, a paralegal by day, a waitress and bartender at night at the Tin Lizzy, sat beside him. At 28, she has never voted before, and she is now thinking it might be a good idea to start.

Letosky entered the evening undecided in a town that is heavily Democratic in registration. Her sister and father are on opposite sides of the political aisle. Donald “Trump had the upper hand this evening,” she said, citing his command of the back-and-forth between him and Hillary Clinton.

Reed, 35, is a registered Democrat and small businessman. “By the end of the debate, Clinton never said a thing to persuade me that she had anything to offer me or my family or my community,” he said, sitting at the same bar that has boasted local icons as regulars, such as the late Fred Rogers, and Arnold Palmer, who had his own stash of PM Whiskey hidden behind newer bottles of whiskey for his regular visits.

“Have to say Trump had the edge this evening, he came out swinging but also talked about specifics on jobs and the economy,” Reed said.

PA and CO are going red.

Hillary talking about shutting down the coal mines lost her PA.

Her anti-weed stance and the DNC treatment of Bernie lost her CO.

    It's over.

Indeed. The professional polls/focus groups released post Humbling at Hofstra:

83% of Democrats called it for Clinton, and 68% of Republicans said that Trump won. Among independents, however, sentiment clearly favors Hillary. 54% of independents who watched the debate say that Clinton won, compared to 28% who say that Trump won.

Go on. Keep ignoring the will of the people.

See how far it gets you.

This is exactly what the remainers said pre-Brexit.

"The only people voting Leave are trolls, when the actual referendum comes around Remain is going to win by a comfortable margin."

History is repeating itself. I love watching this.

I look forward to watching the post-election meltdowns from the lefty media after Trump wins in a landslide.

Watching BBC during brexit results was hilarious but this is going to be even better. Don Lemon is probably going to erupt in tears on live TV.

Hillary won because of 2 things:

    1. She didn't come across as a cold hearted bitch.

    2. She didn't get defensive.

As far as specific policies she was predictably vague, as all politicians are, but as long as she stuck to #1 and 2 above she was going to prevail.

    3. She let Trump speak...announcing to the country that he pays no taxes and is proud of it, that it makes him "smart".

I honestly feel like most of the damage Trump took last night was damage he inflicted on himself.

Agreed. He allowed Hillary and Lester Holt to hone in on some ridiculous statements. It also helped that Holt tossed softballs to Hillary and didn't follow up. I think the next debate is a town hall, which should be more favorable to Trump.
