....after that follows many old school kung fu flicks.

Laughter comes from the surprise, most of the times.

Lol, comedies have the most rewatch factor, because of their simplicity.. sure, it may get worse, but generally it stays funny for a while. Just easy to sit through.

I don't know the director you mentioned but, for instance, Young Frankenstein always makes me laugh and so does Benigni.

However, 90% of comedies are idiotic and hardly make me laugh at first watch...
