What the hell were the Lakers thinking? Giving 16m/y to Mozgov who is a trash and 8m/y to Yi Jianlian who is a even bigger trash. In the end the fans will get screwed because of higher ticket/merchandise prices.

Yi's contract is worth $1m, it could go up to $8m if he meets certain performance bonuses...which he won't unless given bigger minutes.

I hope he gets cut. I'm fine in going with Mozgov, Julius, Zubac, Black and Nance as our big men. Deng and Ingram can play there every once in a while.

There is no way he gets cut, way too much money to be made from jersey sales in China to even consider cutting him. Sadly, I think this will be the last we see of Metta World Peace in the NBA .

We are down to 17 players, everyone's contract is guaranteed except for TRob and MWP. Easy decision for management.

Wait, so can both cut players and those who make the roster get sent down to the D-League?

we already had him... gave him a good shot and he did good (not great), but he kept getting injured.

at 28 he's too old for us now as a rebuilding team. actually he's probably older than that based on the rumors and knowing what cheats the chinese are.

Then it makes sense. Hope he goes back to China where he belongs.

IIRC he goes back during the summers and has been their best player the past few years. he either wants to make a point by playing in the NBA or he's gotten comfy in the USA, or both.

i've read that the chinese are excellent at producing individual athletes, but not team players. they lack the creativity for that, apparently. so for water sports and table tennis and stuff like that they're great, but we may never see them field a really good futbol or basketball player, etc.
