3) Therefore, Jordan is the only goat-level athlete in history that was ALSO a goat shooter.. Does that makes sense?

Jordan's 3-point percentage is better than Lebron's.. But it doesn't matter because good shooting isn't needed to be a great player in today's game - for example:

The 6'3" Westbrick had an MVP-caliber season and was scoring champ in 2015 despite shooting 29.9% from 3-point range and 36.9% from midrange - accordingly, Jordan's superior athletic specimen and goat midrange shooting would do even better.

Ditto for the 6'4", brick-laying Wade in 2009, who was scoring champ while shooting 31.7% on three pointers and 41.6% from midrange.

The reality is that Lebron, Westbrook, Wade, Derozan and Butler ALL have poor midrange and 3-point efficiency (can't shoot), but they're still top scorers because today's spacing and hands-off defense allows good athletes easier access to the rim.. MJ's athleticism would benefit the same way, except he was a goat midrange shooter (49% in 1997, and 50.4% in 91' and 92'), which gives him a massive advantage over non-shooters Lebron, Westbrick and company..

    Ok...?

Jordan would be the GOAT regardless of his era. That why most people don't argue that he's the GOAT...

    Dumbass, man...

Big men can't defend guards closely, so when today's spread floor, screen-roll setup forces bigs to defend guards on the perimeter, today's ballhandlers enjoy wide open mid-range shots ANYTIME THEY WANT:

Even the vaunted "flood" allows WIDE OPEN midrange jumpers because bigs can't defend guards closely:

The wide open midrange that is always open for today's ballhandlers is why Jordan's goat midrange shooting would dominate even more than previous eras.

    You fool

Chris Paul is the best midrange shooter in the league and all those shots were midrange shots

But there's nothing opponents can do, because the spread floor and standard screen-roll setup in today's game forces big men to defend guards on the perimeter.

Since big men can't play guards closely, CP3 can shoot midrange jumpers with impunity in today's spaced-out, screen-roll bonanza.. Obviously, MJ's goat midrange shooting would dominate even more than previous eras.

Chris Paul is also shorter than Eva Longoria. His set shot is a fadeaway.

Exactly - and yet he lives off midrange against today's cupcake setup, so the 6'6" Jordan and his goat midrange would run roughshod.

Indeed - due to the spaced-out setup on screen-rolls where bigs are forced defend on the perimeter (shown throughout the thread), Jordan might play point guard and use screen-roll incessantly in today's game, just like Harden and Lebron do.

And by doing so, he'd average far more assists than both.. He'd show that Lebron's 6-7 assist range is actually pretty pathetic for a point-guard level ball-dominator in a such an easy, spaced-out setup.

Ultimately, the easier midrange and assists achieved in today's spaced-out, ball-dominant-friendly environment would make Jordan's prime stats better than they were in his era, probably 35+ ppg, 6 rebounds, and 10+ assists.. Don't be surprised - spacing makes the game easier for EVERYONE - why would Jordan be different?

MJ was a clown who played in a clown league against other clowns. His stats mean as much as Vaseline Spreadanus' in Euroleague. He was a smart guy tho who took the money and ran when the going got tough. I heard he's remodeled himself as a shoe salesman now, swindling broke kids in Brooklyn to buy his overpriced Taiwanese manufactured footwear. He's also decided to get actual NBA stars to market his brand since he knows no one in their right mind would buy apparel from a bald man who wears mom jeans. At the end of the day he's made more money from apparel and footwear than basketball so calling him a basketball player is like calling George Bush a fighter pilot; he wasn't good at it and it wasn't a major part of his life.

wait a minute. It's now pathetic to have less assists than someone who's the best passer/playmaker in today's league(which is more point guard oriented) and one of the best all time . Also, there's nothing wrong with saying Jordan would have more assists in today's game but you've completely exaggerated yet again. Saying he'll have 10 assists is saying he becomes one of the best passers in the league and comparable to one of the best passers of all time. Steve Nash played in the most wide open system of all time but his high is only around 12 assists. A different environment is not enough to take a guy from 6apg to 10apg.

But a different style of play (ball-dominance) ALONG WITH the different environment (spacing) WOULD increase his assists that much, and probably more.

Jordan would be a more ball-dominant player in today's game due to the automatic midrange pull-ups for ballhandlers and easier penetration.

He'd probably have the same ball-dominance as Harden or Lebron, or the time Jordan played point guard for 24 games in 1989, when he averaged 30/9/11, including 10 triple doubles in 11 games (documented here and here).
