i have no problem paying more taxes if everyone was doing the same.

i'm not someone who cries about socialism neither like it's absolutely the worst idea on earth because some people really do need it and my tone would drastically be different if it was assistance for people who seriously needed help.

but the program wasn't designed for someone like stalker4life to never work again in his life. he's not a senior citizen -- he's actually in his prime in terms of working age. he can speak perfect english. he's not crippled. he's not in a wheelchair. he's not blind. i believe he's physically capable of doing many things, many jobs that require labor that he could be useful for. and that ugly-excuse is baloney.

he can do better for himself, and he should.

I used to think so as well. Used to hate stalker, but now I feel like he has more problems or more serious problems than I gave him credit for

we all just laugh at him, while he has to live with his struggles.

My man, you gotta improve your situation any way you can. Try a trade school or something, any class. The only important part about getting into the door is through connections.

I'm in a Muslim bball league and you cannot believe how everyone is looking out for each other, as long as they believe you are a good guy. Join a Christian league, and prove your worth. There are uneducated dudes in my league and they have been helped through the door. As long as you prove you are stable and gonna make an effort (and of course not make them look bad), they will help you.

Have faith brother, just work to improve your situation and if you cannot... just pray to God. I'll pray for you man

I think a lot of people in this country just assume you can waltz into an office and say "i'm depressed" and get SSI for the rest of your life. Not so easy especially for a single young guy. If OP is being truthful, which he probably isn't, you gotta have some significant problems to qualify. It's a lengthy and involved process.

Thanks, brother. Christians and Muslims must unite and display the love that will break down walls, not build them.

if you still get food stamps while making $16,000, shouldn't that give you even greater incentive for you to work??

In other words give any loser too lazy to work an excuse to live off the system.

Unless you have a physical injury or a documented traumatic event happen to you recently, there's no excuse not to work.

No wonder the left wants illegal immigrants to fill the job ranks, their voter base is too lazy and stupid to work if they hand out entitlements like candy. That gives them not one but 2 voting blocks, the lazy and the illegals.

As someone who has worked since I was 16, held 2 jobs at many points in my life, and has never been between jobs for more than 2 months, I cannot sympathize sorry.

Never went to college huh? Shocking

As someone mentioned, you can't just say you are depressed and then get financial help without working. It's a long and tiresome process. And just because you don't have any disabilities or mental issues doesn't mean other don't, or that their problems isn't real and severe

The facts are, not everyone can snap their fingers and get hired.

Minorities. The disenfranchised. The ostracized. The ugly. The outcasts.

    We are real.

I find it hard to believe you can't get a job at Walmart or some burger flipping place that requires ZERO qualification, looks or any kind of personality.

You should keep applying at those jobs, YOU WILL eventually get one there. I have a feeling it's what you are saying during interviews?

I mean, when they ask you why you want to work at their particular workplace, do you tell them you are only there for the money?

The difference between those who do and don't is simply motivation.

I have depression, anxiety, PSTD and a range of things, but it doesn't stop me working.

It's a cop out and our society is coddling those who don't want to grow up.

Yes I did. You ever hear of a part time job you dolt? My parents didn't have the resources to help me enough without having to work. I HATE retail work but I had to do that crap for a year and half before I found something better.

Anyone can say they are depressed, most can convince themselves they are depressed if they can benefit from it. Same with drug use. I don't think you can yet get benefits in the USA if you are a known drug user because you can buy drugs with TANF money as well as trade food for drugs. I know the left is trying to change this but it will be a few years before they are in a position to do so.

This welfare, safespace mentality being pushed by the left is crippling society.

Governments need to be pouring more money and resources into linking people into businesses and jobs. Even if that means reducing business taxes and giving employers major incentives to take on more employees.

Do whatever it takes to get people employed. A productive citizen has a ten fold effect, less mental health issues and better family structure means less strain on the welfare and health system.

Just went through their process and I was basically hired, but they halted it once my background check came through.

    Only misdemeanors.

You don't think a manager there would've made an exception for a person they were attracted to? Think again.
