At least one player will have to be cut prior to that date for the Jazz to get to the 15-man maximum roster. That excludes Nate Wolters and Eric Griffin, each of whom inked two-way contracts with the team.
I imagine they could get cut in favor of someone else on the 2 way too. Their contracts are small.

    https://www.slcdunk.com/2017/9/21/16...power-rankings

ESPN released their latest power rankings basked on BPI (basketball power index), and it put the Jazz about where everyone else is thinking.
higher than I'd put them. Certainly would have the Grizzlies over them

The Jazz came in at 16th overall in the NBA, 9th in the Western Conference, and 5th in the Northwest Division. Obviously the Jazz will have much higher expectations than missing the playoffs and finishing last in their division. They are the defending Northwest Division champs, and they will look to defend the banner.
Defend a meaningless banner! They are 5th without a doubt on paper

Rodney Hood has shown he can score in bunches. But scoring consistently and efficiently is what he needs to do to breakout in 2017-18.
Needs to show he can do more than just score if he's going to be the starter/all-star/go-to-guy everyone thinks he is. I'm not seeing it. I thought late in his rookie year into his 2nd year he might be that guy but now I see 6th man. Now that it's time to get paid he goes to work? Never a good sign!

Can Derrick Favors get back to form?
If healthy I imagine. The bigger question is can him and Rudy play together and can either be effective without shooters opening up the rolls to the rim. Also how much can they net for him once he's traded?

Gobert could be in line for a major uptick in offensive production, which makes him worth a look toward the end of the first or beginning of the second round.
He'll be better. His stats might not be though

Raul Neto is the third point guard, but the Jazz have a handful of players (Donovan Mitchell, Joe Ingles) who could play spot minutes at point guard to fill in minutes not taken by Ricky Rubio and Dante Exum.
Neto should be considered the 2nd pg until someone proves otherwise. Can't see him being cut. He's an NBA rotation player somewhere where length isn't the end all. He might get traded.

Bolomboy is fairly expendable. He’s the fourth power forward on the roster in a league where power forward is a very undervalued position. Despite some hometown love from fans, Bolomboy seems more likely to be on his way out than the other two.
They have no other young PF. He can stretch the floor and he played his role well the two times he got quality minutes last year.

To me Exum is the guy to go if he doesn't step up.

Gobert and Rubio will likely find their way to 10/10 seasons (taking entirely different routes to that 10/10)
Rubio has only averaged 9 assists once and barely reached 10 points in any year. How is that likely?

I think it’s really great that the Jazz are trying to keep the arena modern and giving the fans the best product they can.
I'd rather they tried giving the fans the best product on the floor personally but apparently that will never happen

the Jazz have good secondary defenders such as Joe Ingles, Derrick Favors and Dante Exum.
    Exum sucked last year

Utah improved its backcourt defensively by trading up to draft rookie combo guard Donovan Mitchell and then dealing for Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio.
    we'll see

Adding those two in the backcourt should help the Jazz get easy buckets in transition off turnovers.
Too bad Rubio sucks in transition

Perhaps the one question for Utah offensively is: Can players such as Gobert, Ingles and Rodney Hood run the floor effectively in those situations?
Ingles and Gobert can. Not sure that is Hood's strong suit though

[QUOTE]Exum is also a question mark given that he hasn
