Netflix: Sex Education
Possibly the best comedy/drama on tv period. Best teenage show since Freaks and Geeks and should be getting more love.
I was originally skeptical on the show's premise. I thought it was gonna be another hollow show with implausible plot lines. But the show's writing and acting make it unique and more believable than I originally thought. Even the show's writers poke fun of themselves and the premise from time to time.
There are moments where the show falls into cliches, yet even those are handled as well as one can handle them.
We're gonna see some stars come outta this show specially Emma Mackey, but imo the best actor is Ncuti Gatwa who steals the show and the directors rightfully focus on his small nuances instead of doing quick edits of him.
Just watch it, it deserves to be watched!!!

Re: Netflix: Sex Education
Watched the first episode and thought it was so so. I'll have to give it more of a chance, as it was mostly set up.

It gets better, as you said the 1st episode is a set up. The character development gets better (naturally), the 'gimmick' gets fleshed out and it becomes less of a gimmick and something that's believable.
