Re: The Soccer Discussion Thread
Chiesa who I've never heard of before but is apparently pretty good scored a brace today and McKenny scored one too. Juve won 3-1 vs. Milan which is big for their title hopes. If they lost they'd be down 13 points. Like this it's 7 points with a game in hand.

Inter Miami is expected to hire Beckham's old friend Phil Neville as the new head coach. He currently is the head coach of England/UK women's NT.

Messi 555m euros in 4 years, nearly 140m euros per season. I remember when Danko was trying to tell me he only made less than 1/3rd that a couple a months ago. Also no wonder Barca is in such a financial cluster****
ESPN says there may have been a 140m US sign-on bonus & 90m US loyalty on top of that
Any more credible sources than reddit?

It's all over the news, and Messi is considering suing the 4-5 people that are responsible. Apparently ESPN is wrong, the add on and loyalty fee go close to about 200m euros.
The stories about Messi making 100m have been going on for years, it's amusing to see everyone was wrong because it was grossly undersold just how much the guy was actually making.

Messi has 4 goals in the CL this season, all pens
I was rooting for Barca since PSG is one of the main heavyweights to win the entire competition, but they let me down. Lenglet and Pique were garbage, same with Dest. Pique shouldn't have rushed his comeback, an unfit Pique whose already slow vs a team that's strong and fast was a recipe for disaster. Feels like Mbappe just had a tryout for Madrid. He either goes there next summer or signs a rumored 1+ extension to play one season with Pessi.

Re: The Soccer Discussion Thread
As a Barca fan I can say that Messi really has little reason to stay at this point. We are a bankrupt, mismanaged and unprofessional organization top to bottom. He has a few productive years left in his career that he should go elsewhere to try and win. At least I would if I were him. You never know with the little guy and his fierce loyalty though. Him being that way probably made us worse actually because he never lit a fire under the management's ass. Sometimes more self-oriented players may ironically put more pressure on their organizations to build better teams. Barca has been in free fall since 2017. Glad people finally see it now.
