And no one is really confused about this... whether it be those Reps in the room asking these questions and bellyaching about his truthfullness or posters here on the board. It's all in service of creating a narrative that undermines his credibility and distracts from his testimony. They're hoping people are too stupid or too invested in their support of Trump to see through it.

He basically said that earlier, and has said that he is continuing to help the SDNY in hopes of reducing his sentence further. To your point, I honestly don't think he really considered the legality of the things he did for Trump as evinced by some of the illegal activities he engaged in apart from Trump. My point is that he's STILL LYING.

You can never 100% peer into another man's heart but he'd have to be the motherload of naivety and fear to make a change in his own life to not be lying about his own feelings towards the events over the years. The motherload. And given that it is extremely likely that he is lying about his repentance, I find it to be probable that he would say anything that he perceives will make his own life better, regardless of the validity, or truthfulness, if you will.

That doesn't mean that he's lying about everything or most things, any longer... only that he is still lying, and thus everything he says must be taken with a grain of salt as a result.

And yeah, the term 'values' is broad. Nobody owns or determines the values of the entire nation, but there are some general values that we should support as a country..
