But, a black man in southeastern USA (in 1993) in a shiny red Lexus at a road side rest probably flashing some jewelry on his wrist would never be a target? So now the mobsters FOLLOWED Mr. Jordan until he just happen to pull over at a roadside rest? One shot to the chest? The killers made a video of them wearing Jordan's jewelry and BOTH are still in the PEN for life.
I have to log off now. These boards are getting dumber and dumber.
They got their money.
Mike paid up.
This is somewhat common knowledge to many communities in chicago bruh.

Then.......... once the Bulls got bounced out in nthe 2nd round, that's when you starteds hearing "he's rusty" excuses being made by the media and fans.
No way MJ would have came back if he thought he'd get embarrassed by not being physically and mentally ready for the rigors.
Why not just wait ill the following if he was so rusty??

Re: Apparently Jordan was
This is hilarious, guys fighting for grown men like they are the battered wife that got left.
For disclaimer, I do believe Lebron has done Performance enhancers just like several others (It won't come out because Kobe, Wade, etc will come down with it)
MJ was gambling with underworld mobsters. People said it wasn't that he couldn't afford it, he just didn't like paying debts. I do believe MJ was suspended instead of retirement.
I also wouldn't be surprised if his father wasn't squeaky clean in everything.
Lesson: everyone has dirt. some more egregious than others.

Suspending the biggest cash cow the league has ever seen???
Does that sound like a smart business decision?

Seemed like it worked out, no?
Got his rest, got his brand/ratings up even more upon his return.

Because they got lucky as f**k that there was a baseball strike right in spring 1995.
Had that not happened who the hell knows. NBA could've been stuck up sh*t creek without a paddle for a long time.
They would never do that willingly.
Two dumb punk kids saw a luxury car at a rest stop and decided to rob it and being dumb punk kids it turned into murder. That's basically all there was to it.
Jordan could've been on trial for murder and the NBA still would've gone for bat for him, Nike, NBC, Gatorade, McDonalds were too important to league revenue and sponsorship.
There was a huuuuge drop off in TV ratings at the snap of a finger
27 million+ for game 1 of the Bulls-Suns Finals in 1993, versus 17 million for Knicks-Rockets in 1994. No business is stupid enough to do that on purpose to themselves.
Jordan was the NBA's golden ticket, they've never been as popular since.

In those 17 games in 1995 he averaged up to that point...
Career low FG %
Career low eFG%
Career low FT%
Career low SPG
Career low BPG

Can you really say with a straight face Bron didn't go off in 2007 at 22 years old carrying soup cans? You said "weak stats in the 07 run?"
vs Wizards, Bron: 28-9-8 on 55% TS with ORtg 126 (24.6 GmScore)

Jordan in 96 winning FMVP
vs Sonics, MJ: 27-5-4 on 54% TS (18.5 GmScore)
Why do you keep ethering yourself? With LeBron, every single series in 2007 was better than Jordan's 96 Finals run. Are you a masochist?
Did you really think I'd let you get away with that?..
Averages for the first 3 series before the Finals:
JORDAN 96':. 32.3 ppg.. 47.9 fg.. 57.6 ts.. 34.4 usg.. 126 ortg.. 23.7 GmSc
LEBRON 07':.' 25.8 ppg.. 43.4 fg.. 54.0 ts.. 28.6 usg.. 116 ortg.. 22.2 GmSc
JORDAN 96':. 1.8 oreb.. 3.0 dreb.. 4.1 apg.. 2.0 tov.. 1.8 spg.. 0.4 bpg
LEBRON 07':.' 1.4 oreb.. 6.9 dreb.. 8.3 apg.. 2.7 tov.. 1.9 spg.. 0.5 bpg
Finals averages
JORDAN:. 27 on 41.7%.. 18.9 GmSc
LEBRON:.' 22 on 35.6%.. 10.6 GmSc
MJ is sooooo much better than Lebron...
And btw - AI, Dwight and Kidd also carried teams to the Finals in that decade, so lebron's 07' run was standard for a great player in that conference.. Lebron should be knocked for failing to make Finals runs in 09/10 despite being the heavy favorite, and ceding those easy runs to Dwight and a 50-win, dilapidated Celtics team.. So lebron can't carry a team to the Finals - that's why he left Cleveland in the first place - he failed drastically in 09/10.

1st round
33-7-6-2 with 50% fg (GmScore 23.2)
2nd round
31-6-4 with 48% fg (GmScore 21.6)

Why do you keep doing this? You're running around in circles twisting however which way you want. This conversation started when you nonchalantly said "LBJ didn't do much to drag the soup cans to the Finals" to which I said he did way more than MJ did in the 1996 FINALS. I'll repost the numbers so it's more clear to you but please stop trying to distort reality, unless you're a magician going through magician training school or something peculiar of the sort.
2007 Playoffs
LeBron
vs Wizards, Bron: 28-9-8 on 55% TS with ORtg 126 (24.6 GmScore)
vs Nets, Bron: 25-7-9 on 54% TS (20.0 GmScore)
vs Pistons, Bron: 26-9-9 on 54% TS (22.9 GmScore)
1996 Finals,
MJ (wins FMVP)
vs Sonics, MJ: 27-5-4 on 54% TS (18.5 GmScore)

LeBron had a higher GmScore in every single 2007 soup can carrying playoff run than MJ did during his 1996 Finals performance.
LeBron had an equal or higher TS% in every single 2007 soup can carrying playoff run than MJ did during his 1996 Finals performance.
LeBron had more rebounds and assists in every single 2007 soup can carrying playoff run than MJ did during his 1996 Finals performance.
MJ scored 27 to LBJ's 28, 25, 26 (26.3 average)
Edit: Lastly, keep in mind we are comparing 22-year old LeBron with "peak" 72 win Jordan.
You're done for kid
